Dymo Labelwriter 550 Driver Update

MagManager now supports the latest Dymo printer drivers.

If you have recently upgraded from Dymo 450 to Dymo 550 or later, you'll need to uninstall the old software from your device first, then install Dymo Connect and finally turn on 'Use DYMO Connect Driver' setting in MagManager system defaults.

The notes below cover the steps to unintall and reinstall DYMO software, first on a windows computer and secondly on a MAC.

Instructions for windows users

Step 1 - Unplug the Dymo Printer's USB cord from your computer. Leave the USB unplugged until instructed to plug it back in.

Step 2 - How to uninstall the currently installed DYMO driver software on a Windows PC
Right click Window start icon > Select Settings > Select Apps.

Select Apps & Features > Type Dymo in the Search box > Select Dymo Label > Select Uninstall.

Step 3 -  Download the new DYMO driver Software

Go to: https://www.dymo.com/support?cfid=user-guide

Click the arrow beside 'The latest Software & Drivers for all LabelWriters and LabelManager.

Select the download option under Windows.

Step 4 - Install the new DYMO driver software.

Open the downloaded software installer on your computer.  Go through the installation steps as they appear.  

If you are using Google Chrome, your download will be located in the bottom left corner.

Step 5 -  Plug the Dymo printer USB back into your computer.

Step 6 - Login to MagManager 

Click the Cog wheel to open the main settings page > Under Settings > Select System Defaults > Turn on Use Dymo Printer & Use Dymo Connect Driver > Click Update.

Step 7 - Test print a label.

 

Instructions for MAC users

Step 1 - Close the DYMO software. Unplug the Dymo printer's USB cord from your computer. Leave the USB unplugged until instructed to plug it back in.

Step 2 - How to uninstall the currently installed DYMO driver software on a MAC

Go to Apple > System Settings > Printers and Scanners. If there is the DYMO printer in the list of printers, select it and then click on the "-" icon to remove it.

Step 3 -  Download the new DYMO driver Software
Go to: https://www.dymo.com/support?cfid=user-guide

Click the arrow beside 'The latest Software & Drivers for all LabelWriters and LabelManager.

Select the download option Mac.

 

Step 4 - Install the new DYMO driver software
Run the installation file and choose "Customise" as the installation method.

Select 'DYMO Connect Uninstall' and click Install.

Restart the computer.

 

Step 5 -  Plug the Dymo printer USB back into your computer.

Step 6 - Login to MagManager 

Click the Cog wheel to open the main settings page > Under Settings > Select System Defaults > Turn on Use Dymo Printer & Use Dymo Connect Driver > Click Update.

 Step 7 - Test print a label.

 

Checking if DYMO is installed correctly

You can check if the DYMO Label Web Service is running by going to the following web address in your browser: https://127.0.0.1:41951/DYMO/DLS/Printing/Check.  If everything is installed correctly the message below will appear on screen:

You can also check the DYMO Label Web Service icon is showing in your task bar at the bottom of your screen.  Hover over the icon and it will display 'DYMO Label Web Service'. 

NOTE: this is NOT the same as DYMO Quickprint.
