How to change the name of an issue

Steps to rename an issue

If you use an issue naming convention such as the seasons or numbers rather than the months of the year, you may wish to change the issue description that appears in MagManager.

Renaming a single issue

Step 1 - Go to the main Settings page.

Step 2 - Under Publications & Bookings Select Publications.

Step 3 - Click on the publication name.

Step 4 - From the issues tab > Select the issue you want to rename by clicking on the edit (pen) icon to the right.

Step 5 - In the Description column enter the name of the issue as you would like it to appear.

Step 6 - Click in the same place, which now shows as a save (disk) icon, to save the changes.

Step 7 - Issues Updated will flash across the top of the screen.

In the example below, the March 2027 issue has been renamed as Spring 2027.

How changing an issue name affects the sidebar display

The sidebar displays one issue name for each month and, when selected all issues created in that month appear in the centre of the screen.

NOTE: If you have multiple publications and issues with different naming conventions, be aware that the issue name displayed in the sidebar of the homepage, publications and booking screen etc will be the first alphabetically.

Example:
Publication 1 - Named as Seasons - Spring (March), Summer (June), Autumn (September) & Winter (December).
Publication 2 - Named Monthly - January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.

Screenshot showing Autumn 2026 listed in the sidebar rather than September. (As the A for Autumn comes before the S of September). However, both issues appear in the centre of the screen Autumn  Leaves Sep/Oct 2026 and Indigo Autumn 2026.
