How to add a content booking in MagManager

You may want to create editorial content for an existing client. In addition, you may want to create your own ‘content’ material for your publication, such as an ‘Events’ page. You can also create ad-hoc content bookings directly on the flat plan.

Steps to add editorial content directly on the flat plan

The advantage of this method is that you can quickly create content on the flat plan, without needing it to be assigned to a client. However, content created in this way won’t be duplicated to the next issue or across multiple publications. It will only appear in the issue it has been added to.

Step 1 - Open the flat plan. (Select Publications top navigation bar and click the issue name > from the flat plan overview select View Flat Plan).

Step 2 - Locate the content size in the sidebar eg Full Page and click to expand it.

Step 3 - Locate New Content > Click then drag and drop the new content onto a page of the flat plan,

Step 4 - The Content Details pop up will appear.

Step 5 - Enter a title, update the other settings as required.  If the artwork is ready it can be uploaded, if not then you can come back and upload it later by clicking on the content from the flat plan to open the content details.

Step 6 - Click Save.

Setting up regular in-house content

If you have regular content, such as an ‘editor’s page’ that you have in every issue, you might like to create a client called ‘Editor’s Page’, and then add a “content' booking for this client. You could create an ongoing booking, so that the booking will automatically appear in each issue.

This works well for pages that appear in each issue as their booking will appear in the sidebar of the flat plan ready to be placed. Particularly if you have multiple publications running the same content, this will allow you to upload the content once and it will appear across all publications.

The bookings would be added as described in the section above Steps to add editorial content for a client.

TIP: To easily identify your own in-house content pages from other clients, you could make it obvious in the client title, for example by adding a prefix to the name "ZZ Editor's page", "ZZ What's On" etc.  Using ZZ keeps them altogether at the bottom of any lists when sorted A-Z.  You could also add a Company Flag to use as a filter when searching on the clients screen.
