In order to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation which applies to anyone processing data of EU citizens, MagManager provides you with a means of recording consent given (or withheld) by your clients for processing their data and contacting them. By default, MagManager assumes you have a "legitimate interest" to process data for your clients.
The Consent tab on the client record summarises the consent record for each client. Consent automatically gets updated here when a client enters their preferences via the Customer Portal. You can also update consent for a client by clicking Add Consent from the Consent tab.

Steps to add/update client consent
Step 2 - Enter their name in the search box.
Step 3 - Click their name to open the client record.
Step 4 - Select the Consent tab - MagManager assumes you have a "legitimate interest" to process data for your clients. The initial entry ‘Legitimate Interest’ along with any other consent updates will be displayed in the list.
Step 5 - To update the consent, click on the green Add Consent button, top-right of the screen.
Step 6 - This displays the Consent dialogue box > Update the toggle switches are required. If you have been asked not to contact, you will need to switch the toggle next to “Don’t contact”. There is also space to add comments.

Step 7 - Click Save.

Letting clients update their preferences
To allow a client to unsubscribe or to update their contact preferences, an Unsubscribe Link should be added to all your marketing emails.
If your client clicks on the link, they will be taken to the customer portal where they can easily record their contact preferences or unsubscribe.
You will need to enable the Customer Portal and customise it with your own logo and add your privacy policy and terms and conditions.

Mailshots
When creating mailshots in MagManager, under Communication Type choose General Communication or Bookings from the Base my Communication on drop-down box, clients who have opted out of email contact will not be included in the search results.

However, if you select Artwork, Invoices or Statements, these clients will be included in the search results.
